Asian Chicken Drumsticks {slow cooker}

 “Slow Cooker” Asian Chicken Drumsticks

What is better than throwing some yummy ingredients in the crock pot and leaving it for the day and forget it.  When dinner comes around and everyone is starving and nagging you for dinner you get to say “dinner is done, time to eat” instead of “what do you want for dinner?”.  Then an hour later you are getting to eat only to find out the kids aren’t hungry any more because they were sneaking snacks the entire time you were making dinner. Grrrrr!

Worry no more because here is my fix for that situation.

This is what I threw in the crock pot one morning and it smelled amazing all day cooking.

10-12 chicken drum sticks

3/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 cups water

1 tablespoon Better Than Bouillon chicken flavor

2 tablespoons finely grated ginger (or 1/4 tsp. ginger powder)

1-2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

2 tablespoons sesame oil

Put the lid on and your ready to walk away for the day.  Here is link to my slow cooker.  I absolutely love it and have had it for years.

Now I kinda fibbed a little when I said you get to tell your family dinner was ready when they started whining at you but this last step is optional but well worth it and only takes about 20 minutes.

I decided to put this over rice with some sauteed veggies.  I sauteed my veggies in the sesame oil and put in a little soy sauce (1 tablespoon).  I sauteed just what I had in my fridge carrots, asparagus, brussel sprouts, portabella mushrooms, and some red and yellow peppers.

Make sure you pour that yummy sauce from the crock pot over everything and dinner is done.  I had these cute little mini egg rolls on hand that I deep fried as well but again optional.
