Easy Crusty Sourdough Bread
So this has got to be the most life changing bread I have ever made, period. It is the simplest thing I have ever made and I could eat the entire loaf in 1 sitting. If anyone knows me they know I LOVE to bake but I have the worst time making bread. Not really sure why but I do. It kills me and every so often I have to give it another go but still it just doesn’t turn out.
First of all I have to give credit to where I found this life changing bread.
Of course I found this on pinterest and had to try it. She has much better pictures than me and more detailed but here ya go. I have altered the recipe however over the many times I have made it as you will notice below.
So I use this not just for slicing sourdough but for a bread bowl for dips. My next step is to see if I can make little loves and do soup bowls.
I will give you my little secret to making this bread even better.
I drizzle the caramalized garlic oil on the bottom of my dutch oven and then drop in the bread loaf to bake. The next time I make this I think I will put in some minced garlic in the bread loaf (heaven). As stated on simply so goods website you can add wonderful things to this bread to make it even better (if possible). Rosemary, garlic, basil, parmesean, etc.
Crusty Sourdough Bread
3 c. All purpose flour
2 tsp. Kosher salt
2 tsp. active dry yeast
1.5 c. warm water
Mix this all till incorporated and you have a wet dough. Let set covered on the counter overnight or at least 12-18 hours (the longer the better). After 12-18 hours dump out on floured surface and let rest 30 minutes. Now get out your dutch oven and poor your yummy oil in the bottom and warm it up in your 450 degree oven. Now put in your bread dough and bake for 30 minutes. It transforms to perfection.
